
With Assembly poll over and Security forces deployed to maintain law and order by the Election Commission of India leaving Jharkhand,the Maoists have started to indulge in violence.
During the month long poll,these Maoists had failed to prevent electorates cast their votes in prsence of security forces belonging to the CRPF.Now,since they had left the state,the Maoists are reported to have killed a police constable and injured two other cops at Itkhori in Chatra on Wednesday.
Chatra SP S N Jha said the “Maoists attacked a police party, triggering an encounter near Bhadrakali temple under Itkhori police station.”
In addition,two vehicles were burnt by the Maoists across the railway track between Tori and Shivpur in Latehar last night in protest against the failure of owners to pay them ransom demanded by them,said the police.
