Paschimi Singhbhum District of Jharkhand spread over 9,907 sq. km and bound by Sundergarh and Purbi Singhbhum District was created by the bifurcation of the erstwhile Singhbhum district.As per 2001 Census, the population of West Singbhum District is 2,082,795.
