Celebrating the first anniversary of his government in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren observed that he took many decisions against adverse circumstances.
“Our government worked for development of the state with full commitment and sensitivity.It strengthened both urban and rural areas”,he said while addressing a function organized by the state government at Arya Bhatt hall in Ranchi on Sunday.
Due to the Election Code of Conduct enforced by the Election Commission of India for the Lok Sabha elections,the government could not take any development work for four-five months.”Despite this the government did many works that will prove be a mile stone for the state in the time to come”,he said.
Soren said questions were raised about the issue of governance.”But I took command of the state at a time when no political party was ready to form the government.Had the government not been formed,works of development and the recruitment would not have taken off”,he said.
He said for the first time in the last 14 years of the State’s existence,he led the government that took some solid decisions.”The government worked for all those people whose voice never reached the corridors of power.By taking decisions in a short period,it was shown that the government cares for human values”,he said.
“The recruitment is being made on principles of transparency.Many of those of the previous governments who had recruited and provided appointment were in jail”,said the CM adding that whoever was in the government,the attitude had to change in favour of the poorest of the poor.
“Criticism should be based on issues of development.The rise and fall of the government does not make much difference provided there was a desire to work.I am running the vehicle of the government keeping all those who were on board completely safe.This will prove to be a mile stone in my political career too”,said the CM.
During the function graced by many Ministers and functionaries including Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren ,appointments letters,land ownership deeds and letters of honour were distributed among the beneficiaries.A booklet titled-Ummido Ka Savera(Morning of Hope)was released.
Among those who attended the function included Ministers –Rajendra Prasad Singh,Champai Soren,Haji Hussain Ansari,Geeta Shree Oraon,Jai Prakash Bhai Patel,MLAs,Mannan Malik(Congress),Mathura Mahato(JMM,Aqueel Akhter(JMM) and Chief Minister sajal Chakrabarty.
The highlights of the function were-
*Three players-Vindhayavasni,Bigan Soy and Mangal Singh were handed over with appointment letters.
*Five persons belonging to the Primitive Tribe who were educated upto Class X were given appointment letters.They were Anita Birhor,Sukra Birhor and Rajmuni from Simdega,Deonath Asur from Lohardaga and Basanti Kumari from Gumla.
*The first three toppers in the Exams conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council were given cash awards of Rs three lakh,Rs two lakh and Rs one lakh respectively.
