Jharcraft showcases silken skills of J’khand at Kuchai Silk Expo

The Jharkhand silk Textile and Handicraft development corporation Ltd (Jharcraft) organized a ‘Kuchai silk Expo’ here at Radisson Blue on Wednesday.

The designer fabrics, attractive colors, rich embellishments and wide variety of textiles cached the eyes of the women folk who have gathered in scores at the six -day ‘Kuchai Silk Expo’, which kicked off at Radisson Blue Hotel on Wednesday. The expo is being organized by Jharcraft. The spectacular display at 42 kiosks attracted the ladies of the capital city to pick their favorite and unique designer textiles.

Minister for Tribal Welfare Department & Transport Department, Champai Soren, the chief guest at the expo, inaugurated the event.

On the first day of the exhibition, visitors flocked in to witness the colourful silk saris, salwar suits, stoles, dress materials, dupatta and kurtis. Both traditional and modern designs made from silk from across the country like muga, tussar and baluchari were the centre for attention.

The expo has gathered more than 100 weavers and artisans from Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.The expo has also been organized in 15 more big cities of the country.
