All India Trinamool Congress has appointed Bandhu Tirkey, MLA of Mandar, as the president of its state unit.
The party general secretary Mukul Roy expressed hopes that Tirkey would help strengthen the party in Jharkhand. He said the Mr. Tirkey would shoulder this responsibility with full dedication and commitment.
The party also appointed Mr Chamra Linda, MLA Bishunpur as the leader of the legislature wing of the party in the state assembly.
Both Tirkey and Linda, both leaders of Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch and Rashtriya Kalyan Paksha respectively, were given affiliation as Trinamool Congress members by the Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Shashank Shekhar Bhokta on the first day of the monsoon session.
