The state cabinet on Thursday approved the regularization of the services of 367 contractual nurses working in Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS). According to cabinet secretary JB Tubid, it was also decided by the cabinet to fill the vacancies of remaining 149 posts of nurses in the health institute.
It is to recall that RIMS’ contractual nurses recently staged demonstrations and threatened to go for indefinite strike following which health minister Rajendra Prasad Singh expressed the proposal of regular recruitment of the nurses in the cabinet meeting on Thursday which later in the meeting was approved. Delighted over the information of regularization, a number of nurses arrived at the residence of Rajendra Prasad Singh Thursday evening to express their gratitude for the decision.
