A railway crossing in Lohardaga district witnessed an accident in which a train engine hit a van carrying school children.Result?
Two students were killed and four others injured today.
The injured were hospitalised.”They were undergoing treatment.The condition of two students was serious”,said the hospiat doctor residing in Lohardaga.
“The accident occurred when the van carrying students aged 8 to 10 years to their school was crossing the tracks at Munda,Lohardaga SP Manoj Ratan Chouthe.
An eye witness said that the school van was moving from Rampur to Dargaon towards the Uiniversal school.The driver could not notice the train engine coming nearer due to the loud music being played incide the van.
All injured were admitted to different hospitals.
The accident could have been avoided had an overbridge been constructed over the railway crossing,said Suresh Singh,a school teacher whose cousin son was injured in the incident.
