Damaged wheat fields are all to appear in rural Ranchi district of Jharkhand.In at least six villages,www.indiancitynews.com surveyed damaged wheat and vegetable fields due to unseasonal rain.
The farmers were in a state of shock due to this unseasonal rain. Recentaly,eventhough the issue was being discussed in the Lok Sabha,there is no body in Jharkhand to take stock of the farmers’ distress dominated state.
Jharkhand Agriculture Department’s senior officer on condition of anonimity claimed that the efforts were on to locate the farmers whose wheat and vegetable crops were affected by unseasonal rain in this season of summer.
“So far,no government official has come to take note of our problem”,said Geeta Oraon,a farmer in neighbouring Khunti district.
