The use of social media in promotion of the development works of the government was the main subject of discussion in a meeting of the Jharkhand Public Relations Department.The meeting was held inside the Suchna Bhawan in Ranchi today.
“Social media have become popular due to its widespread link, form,utility and reachability. As.As such,we have to utilize it effectively as a link between the people and the government so that grievances of the people can be addressed speedily”,observedA.K. Pandey,Director,Public Relations Department,Jharkhand.
“Already,grievances of the people are being addressed by the use of social media and many senior officers of the state government had taken decisions following complaints gathered from it”,said Pandey.
He said that message and information were circulated quickly by the social media.”This makes it necessary to make use of it to link people with the government”,said Pandey directing all officials of the PRD to make use of it as much as they can.
Pandey gave details about various forms of social media including Twitter,Facebook,Whatsup,Instagram,Personal Blogs,Youtube,Channel,Mobile-Linking,Linkedin and Google+Hangouts.
The meeting was attended among others by the state PRD’s Deputy Director Shalini Verma.
