Union Government identifies 18 Jharkhand villages for eco-friendly development

The Union Government has identified 18 villages of Seraikela forest division in Seraikela-Kharswan district of Jharkhand under its ‘Green India Mission’ scheme for undertaking eco-friendly development programmes in those areas.

A team of Union Ministry of Forest and Development led by Additional Secretary Sushil Kumar recently visited the villages to take stock of the situation, Conservator of Forest Satyajit Singh said today.

Singh said that the main objective of the mission was to develop the ecological and economic scenario by different developmental schemes including rain water harvesting and greenery among others.

Besides, facilities for pissiculture and poultry has also been developed to help villagers earn livelihood, added Singh.
