Two Maoists arrested, landmines recovered in Jharkhand

maoists-001Two Maoists have been arrested and landmines recovered from different parts of Jharkhand, police said.

Patrika Toppo, the self-styled second-in-command of Maoist organisation Pahari Cheeta, has been in Simdega.

Toppo was carrying a reward of Rs.2 lakh on his head, and was wanted in more than 30 cases.

Another Maoist belonging to the People’s Liberation Front of India was arrested from Gumla. Four rifle and cartridges have been seized from him.

Landmines have been recovered from the Harindega jungle of Ramgarh district and defused by the bomb disposal squad.
