Two cops get recommendation for President’s Police Medal

The Raghubar Das government has recommended two cops for gaining the prestigious President’s Police Medal.

These cops are :Arun Kumar Singh,Deputy Commandant and Girendra Singh Tomar,Assistant Sub-Inspector.The Chief Minister Raghubar Das has recommended award of the President’s Police Medal for them.

In fact,it is a decoration awarded to members of law enforcement in India. Established 1 March 1951, the medal was originally called the President’s Police and Fire Service Medal. The medal is awarded for either gallantry or distinguished service, with the gallantry version of the medal being accorded a higher precedence. The medal is awarded annually on Republic Day and Independence Day.

If the Union Home Ministry agrees to the CM Das’s recommendation,both of them will get the President’s Police Medal on August 15.They were considered fit to get the award by the CM Das because their achievement was linked with incident dated February 24,2014.

On this date,in a joint move of the state police and the CRPF,a well known Maoist-Lalman,Area Commander of the Maoist Communist Centre,who was wanted by the police in more than a dozen criminal cases,was shot dead and a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions was recovered in Gumla.
