Tributes were paid to the country’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad in Patna today on his 52nd death anniversary.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid a wreath on his ‘samadhi’ and said, “Dr Rajendra Prasad will always be remembered for his enormous contribution to the freedom movement and his role in the making of our Constitution. He had great love for the nation. He made Bihar proud by becoming the President of the country.”
Floral tributes were also paid on behalf of President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Bihar Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi.
A two-minute silence was observed in memory of Dr Rajendra Prasad.
