A wave is on in Jharkhand,28th State of India.Soon after BJP legisslatures elected Raghwar Das as Jharkhand’s first non tribal Chief Minister and Governor Syed Ahmed agreed to provide him oath on Sunday, two different kinds of announcements came to light.
One, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony in Ranchi on December 28.Two, Adivasi Saran Samaj,a body of tribals, today held procession in Ranchi protesting against the BJP’s decision to put up a non tribal Raghuwar Das as Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
The procession was led by a group of tribals. They had gathered at Albert Ekka Chowk, heart of Ranchi. Some of them carried banners, each criticizing BJP to come up with non tribal Raghuwar Das as CM.
Though none of top leaders of tribals who constitute nearly 26 percent of the state’s population had opened their mouth against the move, many tribal residents, cutting across political parties and regions in the state were learnt to be critical of the BJP’s move.
However, leaders of non tribals, cutting across party lines, who constituted more than 73 percent population of Jharkhand, were happy. Some of them have welcomed BJP’s move and congratulated Das as CM in the making.
