The annual hunting festival of the tribal community “Bishu Parob” (also known as Sendra parob) will be observed on April 26 and 27 but with a difference.
The Eco development committees of many villages and forest officials today decided to observe the annual hunting festival without harming the animals in Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary.
A meeting was organized by the Forest Department in Jamshedpur, where senior department officials and members of the Eco Development Committees of several villages took part, officials said.
Keeping in view the depleting number of animals, this time it has been decided that the festival will be observed but without hunting the animals, said Forest Department officials.
