Several students from extremely weak financial background tend to drop out of the academic mainstream due to their inability to pass the very important examination of class 10.

To enable them to get back into the academic stream, and make them eligible for better career opportunities, Tribal Culture Society (TCS), Tata Steel is facilitating a residential coaching program in collaboration with Tribal Research and Training Center, Chaibasa.

This residential coaching programme has enrolled 50 students comprising 27 boys and 23 girls, who were unable to clear the class 10th examination. Out of the 50 tribal students, 24 are from East Singhbhum, 20 from West Singbhum and 6 are from Saraikela – Kharswan district. These students are being provided a specially tailored coaching program spanning eight months to help prepare them for the 2013-14 matriculation examination. The program has already started in the 1st week of July ’13.

The Tribal Cultural Society, Tata Steel will bear all expenses related to boarding and lodging of the students including the expenses incurred on hiring teachers.
