The three-day Art Exhibition(Kala Jatra) cum Sale began at the Audrey House in Ranchi on Saturdasy.
The exhibition carries several vanishing tribal paintings and crafts showing the rich culture of Jharkhand.
Among the most delicate,fragile and threatened tribal traditions of Jharkhand are for example,the Kohvar and Sohrai paintings.These are visible at the ongoing exhibition.
“These are the art practiced exclusively by married women during weddings and at the harvest season”,said an artist who was present at the exhibition.
In the absence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das,who was slated to inaugurate the event,the state Information and Public Relations Department Director A.K.Pandey inaugurated it.
