The Jharkhand government is striving to reunite missing children with their families and is gearing up for the task of fostering and providing security to the children whose families cannot be located.

Girl children who have been rescued from traffickers will be trained so that they can be gainfully employed. Around 20 thousand rehabilitated children, girls and women will be trained in skills in order to make them financially independent.

The Chief Minister Raghubar Das along with the Welfare Minister, Dr. Louis Marandi today inaugurated the newly established Nari Neketan “Snehashray” in Kanke today. Das inquired about the well being of the rescued girls and directed that their family member should be contacted in order to initiate the rehabilitation process.

Nari Niketan caters to the short term housing provided for women and girls who have been rescued and have been the victims of torture , trafficking or destitution. During their stay, the women and girls and their families are counselled to develop understanding and are also provided with medico-legal assistance and skill development in order to make them financial independent.
