Investigations revealed that the death of 12 CPI(Maoist)ultras near Satbarwa police station in Palamau district in Jharkhand on Monday night was the outcome of a ‘tip off’ received by the security forces.
The tip off from a source told the police that a group of CPI(Maoist) ultras was moving around the area by an SUV.This prompted the joint team of the police and the CRPF personnel to trace it on Monday night.
”The moment we came near the site, the Maoists opened fire.In response,we opened fire and the result was that a dozen of them were dead”,said a TV report quoting a senior police officer.
The security forces had also reovered eight rifles and 220 bullets from the Maoists.
