The police have arrested three ‘hardcore’ Maoists from a hideout in Khunti district of Jharkhand.

They have also recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition, which was reportedly looted by the rebels in 2008.

In a tip off that some rebels were conspiring to attack the area, a search operation was conducted and as the Maoists tried to run away during the raid, they were nabbed, said the police.

The arrested Maoists have been identified as Diwakar Pakar Munda, Umakant Pakar Munda and Mohammad Afsal Aalam.

One of them was reportedly an arms supplier and informer of the Maoists.
