‘Jagran’ – an audio visual communication pack for a positive journey towards stress and health management was released today by Suresh Dutt Tripathy, Vice-President, HRM, Tata Steel.

Tripathy expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the content of the communication DVD pack and said that it will surely help employees and their families in improving their quality of life. He also urged the employees to practice yoga and make concerted effort to keep good health.

Jagran is one of the very popular programmes at Tata Steel. The basic objective of this program is to minimize the number of abnormal cases like diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol & obesity. The idea is to motivate the employees to adopt active lifestyle for physical and mental fitness.

In his address to the gathering during the function,O B Krishna, Chief, Corporate Safety, Tata Steel and the main architect of the project ‘Jagran’ said that the health check-up of employees are done on regular basis and during the check-up, abnormal cases are identified and referred for Jagran programmes to control abnormalities through yoga and pranayam. Krishna also shared his personal experiences on the subject.

This year so far, more than 1000 employees have been covered through 25 Jagran programmes. These programmes have also been extended to mines and collieries. Jagran programmes are being organized by the OHS department of Tata Steel under the guidance of Dr. Sugata Sen and Vinita Munrulkar.
