On the occasion of the ongoing 15th All India Police Lawn Tennis Championship 2014-15,Wadali brothers had held a programme at Jharkhand Armed Police-1 ground in Ranchi. The programme was organised by Jharkhand police.
Jharkhand Additional Director General of Police Kamal Nayan Choubey louded Wadali brothers and said:”Wo Asma Tha Par Sar Jhukaye Biatha Tha”(That was the sky,but was sitting with head down).
This made Wadali Brothers feel as if this occasion will never repeat. The Wadali brothers had come from across the country. They were Sufisingers and musicians.
Originally, according to wikipedia,”the Wadali brothers were from Guru Ki Wadali in the Amritsar District in Punjab,India.Born into the fifth generation of musicians given to singing the messages of Sufi saints, the Wadali brothers dabbled in the most unexpected of professions before they became Sufi singers. While Puranchand Wadali, the elder brother, was a regular in an akhara (English: wrestling ring) for 25 years, Pyarelal contributed to the meager family income by playing the role of Krishnain the village rasleelam.”
