Yet another MLA of the ruling coalition led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and Chief Minister Hemant Soren is an absconder,according to judicial records.
So far two JMM MLAs-Sita Soren and Nalin Soren-were absconders in kidnapping and corruption cases respectively.Now,records show that Chamra Linda,Independent MLA,was also an absconder in a criminal case.
In a letter to Soren,Linda had vowed to support him.Though he was on bail in other cases,he continued to remain an absconder in a criminal case-Ranchi,Kotwali Police station,year 2006,FIR No-7/5/04.
This case was registered against him by the police under non -bailable Sections 283(causing damage/injury/obstruction in public way) and 353(assault or criminal force to deter public servant for discharge of duty)of the Indian Penal Code.
In the same case,the police had filed the chargesheet against him on December 26,2006.But despite many summons, the accused Linda did not appear in the court.
On May 15,2008,a non bailable warrant of arrest was issued against him.As he continued to evade arrest,the court of the Judicial Magistrate R.N.Rai declared him as an absconder on July 25,2008.
