Skoch group awards Jharkhand officials


Skoch Group awarded Skoch Award for the emerging State to the Govt. of Jharkhand for improving governance through leveraging communication and information technologies for modernizing police systems, tracking naxal movement on a real time basis, city surveillance and delivery of citizen services through web based single window platform. It also noted that property registration get completed in less than an hour.

The award was received by Additional Chief Secretary A K Pandey and Principal Secretary, IT N N Sinha. These awards were given by Nandan Nilekeni, Chairman, UIDAI.

Independently Jharkhand Police were given Awards for Naxal Information Systems, Crime and Criminal Information Systems, Use of Information and Communication Technology in Policing and Web Portal of Jharkhand Police.

Jharkhand Police received maximum number of awards given to a single entity. These awards were received by S N Pradhan, ADG . Anurag Gupta, IG, CID, Debbrata Nayak Scientist, D, NIC and Mr. Gunjan Kumar.

These awards capped yesterday night conferring of Order of Merit awards to 14 projects and ICT initiatives of Jharkhand, second largest number behind Maharashtra out of total 100 given. The ones awarded included eDistrict, eKalyan, File Tracker, ePanchayat, Computerization of Coperative Banks, and eNibandhan. Mamta Vahan Project of the Health and Family Welfare Department received the Order of Merit award.

Jharkhand was lauded for making rapid progress in governance through ICT and was lauded by several speakers.
