Site Safety Supervisor Training Programme by Tata Steel concluded

Tata Steel’s Urban Services department, one of the operating arms of the Corporate Social Responsibility Division, organised a Site Safety Supervisor Training Programme.

The programme has been designed to train the local unemployed youth and in turn enable them to earn a sustainable livelihood opportunity.

The 10th batch of the programme was launched in collaboration with Safety Excellence Centre (SEC) on 26th August, 2013 and the programme concluded on 27th September, 2013. A total of 26 youth successfully completed the training programme.
Urban Services has been instrumental in framing the entire five week training which also includes 1-week hands-on experience inside the factory premises.

Employees from Safety Excellence Centre (SEC) offer free training as part of ‘Employee Volunteerism’. After successful completion of the training, the youth are recruited by various registered vendors of Tata Steel and others.

The convocation for the successful candidates was conducted October 16 at Safety Excellence Centre. Mr Alok Kanagat, Vice President, Engineering & Projects, Tata Steel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and handed over certificates to the successful candidates.
