Shiva devotees thronged Deoghar to offer holy water to the deity early today to observe “Shravan Somwar”.
In addition to Deoghar’s Baba Baidhyanath temple, other prominent Shiva temples also witnessed a heavy footfall.
The whole month of Shravan is considered to be very auspicious as the ancient churning of ocean was performed in this month. Every day of the month holds a special significance.
On the occasion of Shravan Somwar, devotees undertake a special fast and perform prayers to please Lord Shiva.
Shravani Somvars are highly revered and special pujas are done on this day.
