Brain Drain would soon be a passe with the youths of the country choosing their motherland over the ‘glitz and glamour’ of foreign countries. Ranchi boy, Dr Bibhuti Kashyap made the city proud by securing 28th rank in the entrance test of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) the result of which was declared on Tuesday.
Kashyap, who chose to stay over in the country to serve his people, could have easily gone abroad with his three paternal uncles as well as his grandmother being the citizens of US. However, his love for his motherland gravitated him to serve his own state.Son of the celebrated Kashyap clan in the field of ophthalmology, Bibhuti would like to continue his parents’ legacy of free cornea grafting. He would like to bring over a team of specialists, not only for free cornea grafting but also for providing specialized treatment to the poor for free.
Even though Kashyap’s success in the entrance does not come as a surprise with him cracking the Andhra Pradesh PG entrance test with an all India rank of seven, his success in AIIMS has a special weightage as this Indian institution has a place of honor in the international medical fraternity.
An alumni of DPS, Dr Bibhuti has always been one of the toppers during his schooling. Further he proved his genius by securing an award for academic excellence during his MBBS in 2011 with honours in eight subjects, a rarity amongst medical students.
