Ranchi Smart City plan covers 441 acres of HEC’s land

1-1In a review meeting of the state Urban Development and Housing Department,Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma today directed its officers to prepare and put up land acquisition proposal for the Smart City plan before the Cabinet.

The CS directed that the consultant should be appointed to ensure that the quality of houses being constructed for the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna is upto the mark and its construction work is completed in time.

Also,Verma,who reviewed the works of the Urban Development and Housing Department, directed the Department to prepare and put up the land acquisition proposal for the Smart City plan before the Cabinet.

She directed its officers to link the Skill Development Scheme with the Mudra Yojna so that the loan can be provided to the needy for self employment.”Identify street vendors,map them and ensure that the place for building vendors’ zone is identified in the state capital and other towns”,directed the CS.

In the meeting,the Department informed that the fund in the Central government’s first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, was approved for the plan to build 16,416 housing units in 14 towns of the state.The Principal Secretary of the Department informed that the data base related with the agreement reached with beneficiaries of the Yojna are being uploaded.

The PS pointed out that 441 acres of land lying in the PSU-Heavy Engineering Corporation- area of Ranchi was identified.Toward this end,Rs 485 crore will be paid to the HEC,said the PS adding that a resolution toward this end was already notified.
