Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and three others were today acquitted by a local court in a case related to violation of poll code of conduct in 2009.
Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate G K Tiwari, acquitted them for lack of evidence soon after the Chief Minister, along with Chandrasekhar Mishra, former president of Jamshedpur Mahanagar Committee of the BJP, appeared before it in Jamshedpur.
The court had recorded Das’s statement on June 1, Chief Minister’s lawyers Nand Kishore Mishra and Bhavesh Kumar said.
Another accused Balakram Bhat had died during the trial.
