Many parts of the North and East India including Ranchi in Jharkhand were jolted by an earthquake of 7.5 on Richter scale.
It struck various cities including Delhi, Gurgaon, Kolkata,Ranchi and Guwahati at 11.41 a.m.The epicentre of the earthqauke was in Lamjung, Nepal.
Reports said “mild tremors were also felt in various parts of Uttar Pradesh, triggering panic and forcing people to rush out in the open.”
More,in Utter Pradesh,many towns such as Etah, Farukkhabad, Mainpuri, Hathras, Aligarh, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Rae Bareli, Faizabad and Muzaffarnagar experienced the quake.
In Rajasthan, the tremors were felt in Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Ajmer, Sikar and Bundi.
In Ranchi,many people felt the quake.”Suddenly,my chair started moving.I left it and managed to escape from the fall”,said a security guard at HDFC’s Bariaatu branch in Ranchi.
