Two bodies of the Jharkhand Government-Tourism Department and Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd-are involved in a joint venture with an aim to promote natural protein fiber,some forms woven into textiles-Silk.
These bodies have decided to set up two markets-Urban Hat at Hazaribagh and Rural Hat at Lapung in Ranchi district-to sale Silk gathered,produced and manufactured in Jharkhand.
Their move was billed as ‘Silk Tourism” to promote the sale of Silk.JHARCRAFT carries Common Facility Centre(CFC) where under one roof,silk maker(Boonkar) and handicraft functionaries work.”This CFC will be promoted as Silk Tourist spot”,says JHARCRAFT Managing Director AT Mishra.
Mishra informed mediapersons that silk tourism has to be promoted in accordance with the Union Tourism and Textile Ministry’s directive.
