Jharkhand Health Minister Ramchandra Chandrawansi today said in Medininagar that the government was considering to ban private practice by government doctors.
He told reporters that after the ban if any doctor was found engaged in private practice, he or she would be dismissed.
The Minister said measures have also been taken to strengthen the vigilance unit to ensure improvement in the health sector from state to district level.
Besides, a committee would also be formed to monitor developments in the health sector, added Chandrawansi.
Referring to the prevailing corruption in the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi, the Minister assured of a comprehensive change in the academic atmosphere at RIMS.
The Minister announced that 1200 doctors would be recruited soon in the state and added that the foundation stone of a proposed Medical College in Medininagar would be laid in the first week of April.
