A powerful landmine was detected and defused in Ghatsila sub-division of Jharkhand.
It was planted underneath Shyamsunderpur -Gurabandha road. The Bomb Disposal Squad, which came from Ranchi today in the morning, defused the landmine, said the police .
Acting on a tip-off, police personnel rushed to the spot yesterday and identified the landmine after spotting some exposed wire on the ground.
According to the police, the landmine was targeted at security forces with an intention to cause a major damage.
