A powerful can-bomb has been detected and defused in Naxal-affected West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, the police said on Tuesday.
The security personnel detected the bomb on Tiriposi-Bitkilsoya road while on patrol on Monday.
According to the police the can-bomb, which weighed 40 kg, was planted under a culvert on the under-construction road and intended to target the security personnel.
Later, the bomb was defused by the bomb disposal squad.
