Political scene remains foggy in Jharkhand

The fate of Jharkhand remains foggy with the Union Cabinet not discussing today the Governor Syed Ahmad’s report sent to the Union Home Ministry on Thursday.

Reports from Delhi said that the Congress was pursuing a two pronged approach. One,keep in touch as well as leave the JMM leaders led by Hemant Soren to negotiate with themselves,Independents and the RJD to form the government. This is exactly what happened today when none of the top Congress leaders including Ahmad Patel met any one of these JMM leaders.

Two,weigh the pros and cons of the government formation, dissolution of the state Assembly and imposition of the President’s Rule.”We are in tough. We have to keep in mind the interest of the state”,said the Congress’s state unit president Pradeep Balmuchu.

Back in Ranchi,Independents such as Bandhu Tirkey,Chamra Linda,Enos Ekka,Hari Narain Rai and Gita Koda, wife of Ex CM Madhu Koda, who is in jail facing corruption charges, were waiting to be called by the JMM led by Soren to participate in the formation of the ‘secular’ government.
