Police yet to get officials abducted by Maoists released

Despite the day and night search operation launched by them to locate four officials of Jharkhand Mines Department,security forces have made no success so far.

“We are working to trace them”,said a senior police officer who was involved in the case.

Reports reaching Ranchi said these four officials of the state mines department were abducted by Maoists at around 4 PM near Roro’s Asbestos Mines under Muffasil Police station near Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district on Thursday.

A report said that none of the abducted officials had informed the police about their visit to the mines considered ‘unsafe’ due to the presence of Maoists in the area. “We are working to locate the area where they were kept by the Maoists”, said the police.

The abducted officials were three Deputy Directors Bipin Bihari Satiyar, Saket Bharti, Stenographer Mahanti Toppo and driver Nitai Chandra.
