Jamshedpur, represented in Jharkhand Assembly by Chief Minister Rahubar Das,has recorded two incidents against private schools.
The first incident took place on Monday when Das,in reply to a common demand raised by two MLAs-Jharkhand Vikas Morcha’s Pradeep Yadav and BJP’s Viranchi Narain on the floor of the House that action should be initiated by the government against ‘exploitation of parents’by private schools, promised to book the school management in accordance with the law.
‘Jharkhand Education Tribunal will be empowered and made effective’,Das is recorded to have said on floor of the Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi on Monday.
Today,an Aam Admi Party activist made an abortive attempt to immolate himself in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jamshedpur in protest against the ‘whimsical’ increase in fees by private schools there.
Asked for his comment,Jamshedpur SP(City) Chandan Jha pointed out that since the police personnel had a tip off in advance about his move to self immolate himself, they nabbed Kranti Singh before he committed this crime.”Just before he tried to set himself ablaze in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Jamshedpur, they caught him”,said Jha.
Singh is nearly 35-year-old man.”He was accompanied by some AAP activists when the incident occurred”,added Jha.All these AAP activists were up in arms against ‘failure’of the private schools to admit students of their choice and withdraw the fee hike.
In any case,Singh was detained by the police.
