
Three suspected Maoists were arrested from Porahat forest falling in Naxalite infested West Singhbhum district.
Their arrest was made following a tip-off.Reports claim that the security personnel intercepted a vehicle in Porahat forest on Saturday,said SP NK Singh.
The arrested Maoists were identified as Navin alias Upendra Paswan, Kanda Vishwakarma and Lofar Chaki.Among them Paswan was CPI(Maoist)’s ‘ Area Commander’ of Chatarapur in Palamau district,who was in jail for almost eleven years in the murder case of Deputy SP, Chatarpur, D K Rai, in Palamau.
Police records show that Rai had died in a blast trigerred by the CPI(Maoists)in 2002.He was released from jail recently.
Reports said the arrested Maoists were travelling in the vehicle.’They were on their way to meet some CPI(Maoist) ultras in Porahat forest when they were nabbed by the police and arrested’,said Singh.
The police recovered two pistols, a set of cartridges from their possession.
