Chief Minister Raghuvar Das said today that his government plans to set up a sports university in the state to promote sports activities.
He said this while inaugurating D P International Swimming Academy equipped with first mini-olympic size swimming pool of the country at Danga near Jamshedpur.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Jharkhand has a multi-sports complex in Ranchi but it was not functioning in a proper manner,
“We have plan to set up the sports university in the sports complex. I have already directed the officials to look into it and take necessary steps to establish the sports university soon,” Das said.
He said the youth population of the state can make their career in sports, besides education.
