RTI activist Subhash Agrawal filed an application seeking to know if the former President had taken ‘gifts’and kept them in a private museum in her hometown Amravati.”It is thoroughly inappropriate to take gifts as President of India and take them and keep them in a private Trust”,Agrawal told the NDTV 24X7.

After the President’s office replied in the affirmative,Agrawal demanded that all 125 such gifts be returned to it by January 13,2013.

Now while the Rashtrapati Bhawan is gearing up to keep these gifts in its own museum, the move has served a major blow to Patil who had courted many controversies before and during her tenure as President including spending crores of rupees on her visits abroad with her own relatives.
