Kahalgaon Super Thermal power project of NTPC has exceeded the target of building toilets in schools of Jharkhand and Bihar.
NTPC Kahalgaon was reportedly given a target to construct 2,405 toilets in 1,335 schools in four districts – Bhagalpur, Banka and Khagaria in Bihar and Godda in Jharkhand – and it made 2,424 toilets and handed them to the school authorities by August 14 this year, Group General Manager NTPC Kahalgaon N N Mishra said today.
Under the programme ‘Swacha Vidyalaya Abhiyan’, the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development has furnished a list of schools where a public sector organisation has to build toilets in its surrounding areas.
