Jharkhand State Women’s Commission Chairperson Mahua Manjhi has refused to quit on moral ground following the change of government in the State and said that she had been nominated for three years.

She said that she was nominated as JSWC Chairperson by the previous government led by Hemant Soren for a three-year term and does not have any plan to quit after the NDA defeated the Soren-led coalition and formed the government in the State.

Manjhi, who had lost the Assembly election on JMM ticket from Ranchi, said there is neither any tradition of resigning from the top post after change of guard nor has there been any provision to remove her.

There will be no impact on the performance of JSWC irrespective of whichever government was in power, she said.
