Responding to the Opposition MLA’s demand to hike the reservation quota in the state,Jharkhand Chie Minister Rahubar Das today replied in the negative on floor of the Assembly in Ranchi.
Das said:”We have no plan o any type to increase the job quota from the present 50 percent.”
On Monday,Jharkhand Vikas Morcha MLA Pradeep Yadav raised the demand in the Assembly for a hike in the reservation quota.He said:”The government should hike the reservation from existing 50 percent to 73 percent.”
The CM further pointed out that the state government had come out with 73 percent reservation quota in 2001.Later,it was stayed by the Jharkhand High Court. “There is no plan (at present) to increase the reservation quota,”said Das.
At present, the STs, SCs and OBCs in Jharkhand get 26, 10 and 14 percent reservation respectively.
