montekThe monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly ended today with Chief Minister Arjun Munda asking the Planning Commission to give special attention to developing the state’s basic infrastructure.

Munda was speaking on the last day of the monsoon session of the Assembly.”Jharkhand is the gateway of the country’s economic corridor.Proper investment has not been made in developing basic infrastructure in fields of power, road, drinking water and other sectors of the state,”Munda said.

Munda said that it is irony that while Jharkhand contributes nearly 40 per cent of major minerals such as coal and iron ores to the country, the living standard of its vast sections of the people was poor.”This makes it necessary for the Planning Commission to think of ways to increase investment so as to improve their quality of life”,said Munda.

Munda also stressed the need for smooth oordination between ruling and opposition parties to fulfil the aspirations of the people of the state.
