MP Nathwani continues lighting up homes with solar lampsAt a time when the coalgate scam had put a cap on power generation,he is busy distributing solar lamps to villagers who lived in darkness in the past.

Having distributed 617 solar lamps to residents of Rando and Karam Tola last year,Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani gathered that some villagers were left out as solar power connections could not reach their homes.Soon,he took up initiative and distributed 40 more solar lamps.

Not satisfied with his work,he directed his officials to identify block wise homes still enveloped by darkness.He negotiated with Kotak Urja Private Limited,manufacturer–cum-distributor of solar equipment,and started buying solar lamps.The distribution also began simultaneously.

The trail of light that emanated from Rando and Karam Tola in November 2011 has reached now to Kanke, Namkum, Ormanjhi, Angada, Nagdi, Sonahatu, blocks. The beneficiary villages include Rendo & Karam Tola, Garudpidhi, Jawabeda, Jintubeda, Jarabeda & Tungri Toli and Dargadih Tola of Kolma village.

So far 617 houses have received solar lights free of cost.Not only that,90 other houses of Ranchi’s slum areas in Hindpidhi, Irgu Toli, Nagra Toil and Madhukam were also provided with solar lamps free of cost.In his novel exercise,his staff including Sandeep Varma,Nusarat Jahan and Nalin Sinha played a key role in translating his work into reality.

Though he was not able to visit all the places at the time of distribution,he constantly monitors the activity
