Meeting held to modernise six dams in Jharkhand

To remove encroachment of the Rukka,Getalsud and Gonda dams and develop their land areas in the State Capital,Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba today presided over a high level meeting in Ranchi.

In this meeting Gauva directed the concerned officers to specify and mark the land of these dams within a month and put up poles there so that encroachment can not take place in future.”In case there is any problem in measuring the land,take support of the Survey of India”,said Gauba.

More,it was decided that two Departments-Urban D evelopment and Drinking Water –establish coordination and review the Detailed Project Reports of Kanke and Getalsud dams,and,after taking note of their technical and financial issues,bring out tanders for their modernisation in the current financial year(2015-16)..

Gauba directed that project to modernization these dams should be prepared in view of these dams’ capability and operation.

Incidentally,the state Urban Development Department had earlier selected a consultant for modernization of Giridih’s Khandoli,Dhanbad’s Topchanchi,Chatra’s Hiru and Ranchi’s three above dams and the consultant had prepared DPR for all these six dams.

The meeting was attended among others by Principal Secretary(Water Resources)Sukhdeo Singh,Secretary(Water Supply)AP Singh,City Commissioner Prashant Kumar and Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar.
