Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has ordered concerned officers to appoint Martyr Lt Colonel Sankalp Kumar’s Priya as lecturer in Ranchi University.
Her husband Lt Colonel Kumar was killed by terrorists in Kashmir on December 5.Since he belonged to Jharkhand,his body was consigned to flames with full military honours in Ranchi on December 7,2014.His eight-year-old daughter paid tribute to her father as his wife Priya was in teers.
Large crouds had turned up at several places in Ranchi,showering petals on the body during his last journey.Scores of mo-bike borne mourners had also followed the body upto Harmu ghat.
Now,Das,apart from providing the job of lecturer of Ranchi University to martyr Lt Colonel Kumar’s wife Priya,has ordered that she be handed over a cash sum of Rs two lakh,5 acres of land for agriculture and 12.50 decimal land for housing at Harmu Housing Colony in Ranchi where Team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s residence is located.
Das said that his government will recommend that martyr Lt Colonel Kumar’s father-mother is provided with a licence to own a petrol pump or LPG agency.
