A Maoist commander was today arrested from Latehar district of Jharkhand. According to the police he was a sub-zonal commander and his arrest is being considered as a big achievement.
He was wanted in eight cases and his arrest took place amidst voting at 5,482 booths, including 36 auxiliary ones in the fourth phase of the Assembly Elections in the state today.
The police had earlier arrested Naxal leader and alleged mastermind of Jharkhand jailbreak Sanjay Ganju, who carried a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
Reportedly Jharkhand has fared as the state with the highest incidence of Naxal violence in the first quarter of this year.
