Make Biometric Attendance System successful,CS directs officials

biometric-attendance-systemTo ensure every staff attended and left office on time,Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba today directed all Heads of Departments,Secretaries,Principal Secretaries to connect their office with Biometric Attendance System.

He told them that the Information and Technology Department had already provided the Biometric Attendence System Machine or information was given to them about its ‘Rate Contract.’

In fact, Biometric Attendance System was introduced in Jharkhand in January 2014.He said that the offices at the District,Sub Division,Block and as many as 300 high schools and 188 hospitals were provided with Biometric Attendence System Machine to record attendence.As of now,though there were 51000 registered and active users,only 8000 of them were recording their attendence through Biometric Attendence System Machine.’It is a syrious matter of concern”,he said.

Gauva said that to deal with this challenge,a separate unit will be set up by Information Technology Department.The Principal Secretary of this department will inspect the functioning of Biometric Attendence System Machine on a daily basis,he said adding that it is expected that all Heads of Departments,Secretaries and Principal Secretaries will contribute toward making the Biometric Attendence System function successfully.
