Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba today held a review meeting of the state agriculture department and directed its officers to prepare five year plan to make the state self sufficient in food production.
Toward the same end,he told them to take appropriate steps to turn barren land into agriculture land.
While addressing the review meeting at the Project Bhawan in Ranchi,Gauba said that in order to increase the agriculture production in agriculture based Jharkhand,the concerned departments and their officials must coordinate and establish a system of cooperation.
Gauba directed Secretary(Agriculture) to ensure that the benefits of the schemes being carried by the agriculture department in Jharkhand reach farmers in time.”Any negligence and stagnation in implementation of the schemes will not be tolerated”,he said
He directed them to select the cultivation of crops on the basis of the quality of soil.He also told them to work in such a way that the farmers received modern technology,quality seeds and water for irrigation.
